Guitar, Piano, Violin
Cecilia Richardson, a native of NC, began her musical journey at a young age. She first embraced the violin at the age of four, and her love for music only grew stronger as she ventured into the world of guitar during middle school.
Her musical prowess was recognized early on, as she garnered several music awards during her high school years. Her talent was further acknowledged when she was selected for prestigious honors ensembles, including the NC All-State Jazz Band and NAfME All-National Jazz Ensemble. Her dedication and skill were rewarded with a full tuition jazz scholarship to the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
While pursuing a BM degree in jazz guitar performance at UNCG, Cecilia enjoyed performing locally in the Triad area and throughout the state. She performs with her guitar trio, the Cecilia Richardson Trio, and is part of other groups and freelance. Cecilia has been honored to perform with various artists, including Marcus Printup, Tim Warfield, Darrian Ford (The Cooke Book), and September: an Earth, Wind, and Fire Tribute Band. She enjoys performing many styles of music, including jazz, R&B, funk, soul, and rock.
Cecilia loves working with music students of all ages! She hopes that through teaching, she can pass on the joy of music so that all her students can experience how music can enrich their individual and unique lives. Cecilia's most influential music teachers have been honest with her about how she can improve, have encouraged her to continue, and have given her many opportunities.
Cecilia hopes to help her students learn by encouraging them to pursue what matters to them and learn the music they love. She teaches skills and tools to increase music literacy, but from there, she can guide them in whatever direction they want to go!
