Piano
Mayo Adams began his piano studies at the age of five. He went on to study music theory at Princeton University and graduated from the University of North Carolina with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance, with a specialization in piano pedagogy. For over 25 years, he has maintained a large private piano teaching studio in Chapel Hill, specializing in a traditional curriculum and emphasizing overall musicianship. In addition to classical technique, he is also happy to incorporate elements of jazz, pop, or other genres according to the student's interest. His students have been succesful in local, state and national competitions.
Mr. Adams regularly gives solo concerts and lectures in the area. For many years he was a member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), North Carolina Music Teachers Association (NCMTA), Chapel Hill Music Teachers Association (CHMTA), and the American College of Musicians. Mr. Adams currently works with piano students of all ages and skill levels.
