Jackie Boegel
Trumpet, Violin, Viola, Saxophone, Piano, Trombone, Cello, Flute, Clarinet

Jackie Boegel began her music career at the age of 9 playing the violin. Within a year she began the trumpet and the next year, the piano. She knew from an early age that the practice and teaching of music was something she wanted to dedicate her life to.

While attending Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, Jackie’s primary instrument was the trumpet  and secondary instrument was violin, as well as a piano proficiency. Through her training as a music major she learned to play the trombone, french horn, euphonium, clarinet, flute, viola, and cello, and teaches private lessons on each of these instruments as well.

Jackie is an accomplished educator, musician, conductor and administrator. She has extensive professional experience and has held positions as a schoolteacher, band & choral director, as well as various positions at churches including Director of Instrumental Music at Colonial Baptist church. Her students consistently sit first chair in their class and have passed auditions for the Triangle Philharmonic Orchestras and All State Bands!

Jackie’s teaching philosophy is  simple. Everyone should be exposed to music and have a basic understanding of it. The teacher must strive to meet the student where they are, in regards to their learning style and level, and encourage and  challenge them as they develop their music skills. When a student studies music they should gain a basic knowledge even if they don't continue music for an extended period. The discipline and skills required to play music can be used to better them in life.

Lessons are designed to develop each individual student into a well-rounded musician by focusing not only on learning songs and practicing technical exercises, but also on teaching music theory, history, sightreading, and general musicianship.
